from a few years ago,
saved upo and bought a $100 baitcast setup, went and jigged some herring from the local jetty, threw them in a bucket with an airrator and walked a few km to spot "x" on half tide dropping, wasnt to confident as i thought i had let the tide drop to much, but after rigging a live herring on light mono line, i waited for about 10 minutes when this big girl saddled up my herring and rode me around for 10 minutes before she was captured, i kept her (back when you could..., glad you cant anymore) as i didnt have a camera. i have felt so guilty for keeping that big breeder i havent kept a fish since, (11 years) and thats hard now i live in barra waters. geuss i have paid my dues i spose.
was a 1 in a lifetime catch i reckon.
101cm and 6kg. wish i could have had her mounted.

What a nice flattie - I assume the fillets were not as tasty as a a smaller model?

After 11 years of carrying around your shame and guilt, for your exomolgesis (Google it - I had to) I think you are now absolved young guppy!

Legend! What a great flathead! A capture to remember. And not to feel bad about. Back then the need to preserve breeders was not nearly as urgent as it is now. Well done!

^^^
not to mention it was landbased from an area that sees some very high fishing pressure.
not going to give the spot away...... but its walking distance from the township you can see on the map in the background of the pic, i will even let you know it is north of the township.......

another clue to the township, as those with a keen eye may see a few townships thats or on the water front,
"after jacob was tending the feild, made up of cabbages and some other trees, he began to feel sick, but now after some sugar cane water, jacob has became well again"

the devil is in the the detail southerners!
enjoy.
