Canola? Pesticides in the canola? Fish are extraordinarily sensitive to some pesticides.

Allethrin is toxic to fish, it is a popular mozzie repellent among barra fishos ...

We were pulling deformed Snapper from there 30 years ago and I wouldn't eat the fish from there then and I bl..dy sure I wouldn't eat them from there now

Was just about to ask if any former Perth fishos had a theory on this.

Maybe they had a canola OD.

It is bizarre that they sell insecticides to the public in bulk tins, some of that stuff is incredibly toxic to aquatic life, it only takes someone to pour it down a drain ... should have to be licenced to buy anything more than spray can.
