Didn't get it in SA,but in Port Phillip Bay in Melbourne. It weighed 14lb,that's my pb for them. I remember it slowly picking up the bait and the rod bending over slowly,it was typical of an eagle ray,then it SCREAMED off!! Burnt my thumb. Still thought it was ray,until I got it back towards the boat.Never had one run that hard before.

Yeah Matt they're pretty nice.They have a unique taste I reckon.

Got 6 in under an hour off Ardrossan one morning all arouind the same size.This one went 27lb which is not huge for SA snapper but a good fish anyway

This is not the biggest snapper i have encountered but the one i remember the most as it was on 6lb line 300m from the boat ramp so as far as line class to weight goes it is a personal best.

Just a baby but its the only one I have a digi pic of. Used to get some monsters in the Shark Bay areas of WA. This is not one of them.

This is my wife's best day out snapper fishing, around the 7-8 kilo mark not bad fish from the queensland coast.
