big dam barra

hi barra fishos i have a thought.those big dam barra.they say to take them as they eat the new stock'.but they tast like s##t and i have problems killing a big barra.why dont dpi have a holding tank that fishman can put their big barras in.then release the big girls into the wild.
i think they will breed in the rivers and help build wild fish stocks. what do u think?

Not sure that being tank bred they would be welcomed into the wild gene pool?

Hi.
It actually wouldn't be a bad idea.
Net off part of dams with mesh the baitfish can swim through.
Most of stocking is voluntary work.
They probly wouldn't mind doing a bit extra??.
Most of us only let them go again. anyway.
If they'll survive in the wild. It would be doing everybody a favour.

the dam barra grow quicker and are all male so you're not killing a breeder anyway. they need saltwater to change sex and spawn

All big dam barra are males as they need salt water to turn into females.
