Crimson finches, next monsoon and Dumb Blonde.

Been a while since here last, but happy to report New bar is fully operating, new kitchen and dining room still 2-3-4 Mth. away.
BUT, crimson finches very busy with their "mating games", typically NT style, more males than females, no nest building started yet, so next monsoon through still at least 3-4 weeks away, like mid Feb. SORRY. Casey the 'cute croc' went nesting with that rain we had couple weeks ago, and while out here had far more than Darwin, cannot really be described as Monsoon. Adelaide river rose 1/2 meter above standard high water mark, and is still sitting roughly there. With rain came 5-6 days of massive cherubins, but not one single 'berried female', also indicating NO MONSOON YET. Still get 2-4 big ones a day in my 3 pots, but no 'Berries', they do not run till they know that river will flow one way all the way out to the salt, or at least heavely brackish water required for their spawn to make it. SO, enjoy the 'warm' weather all, think about the poor Yanks that have been through minus 30 to 50 centigrade, AND STOP BITCHING.
After the NT News front page with my 'Dumb Blonde', [no, not my wife Lucy, she's just blonde.........actually grey], she,the dumb blonde, is having the time of her life chasing Fred and Casey, I have tried slowing her down with extra food, her bellie has now gone from AFL ball size to 'real football' soccer ball size. I will forward a couple of videos to Matt for "sizing", and leave it to him for attachment to here.
Cheers.....King Kai.
