Size will drop today and more fish will get caught as the water clears and the mullet fall further down the river. That's my prediction.

is it just me or do these numbers sound terrible to everyone.
180 guys fishing.
assume from the biggest, fastest, flashest boats going, with all the bells and whistles
minn kotas, side scan, down scan. would assume with all the latest flashest rods and reels.
they not even averaging 1 X fish each per day.
sounds like the comp is fishing very slow.
compare these results to 2011 and you would say the river is as dead as a door nail.
by end of day 2 - 47 teams were over the 1000 point mark (2011) with compin on 6800 at that stage.
2014 - 3 days down and no one over the 1000 mark. with the leader on 924.

Tough fishing means better gauge of fisherman/teams. At the end of the day its still a fair playing field and only the best will still find quality fish each day.

I'm sure they are all still having heaps of fun down there.

You do know that 2011 was the best year, ever. Comparing it to that is a bit silly.
The amount of fish caught is not that bad and you always get less (but bigger) on the bigger tides (ie, the start of the comp).

The best part about this comp for people who aren't in it is the free lures they leave behind.... I wonder what the lure to fish ratio is? some where near the 2011 fish stats I reckon....
