They wouldn't have stood a chance unless they bolted straight behind the wharf when the wind first started. It came through that quick! Wind was pushing rain in sideways like a cyclone and I bolted inside with my coffee. I saw the ferry just outside the sand bar after it died down and first thought it'd broken down, then thought they were waiting for the lightning that was running across the sky like a bad case of varicose veins then realised there was an upside down tinny next to it.

I reckon the boys were definitely washing the shorts out by then.

This is what went over them and was still going on when the ferry pulled up to them.

scary stuff that and as you said flicken surely with todays technoligy they would be checking the radar when they saw the lightning around
