Re: Up to the diffs in crocs
Dunno what they were doing driving across there with no recovery equipment or tow vehicle .... not a good move IMO.
No rescue required if you had a $600 turffer hand winch it would have pulled them out backwards off their buried spare in under an hour with a few mangroves under the 4wd or a good 12 000lb hydraulic winch would see them out in no time off a ground anchor. Why floor it when that's just getting you deeper into the poo ......but once again no idea, horsepower only works with traction.
No bottom to that area. But then spending 4 days on the ute when the hard ground is under 100m away @ low tide WTF.. why would u do that. ..... I have no sympathy for DH tourists that think their 4WD is unstoppable.
they soon realize that it's a bit more serious up this way, but o well they'll learn eventually like we did off others misfortune .....
Everyone is bullet proof for a bit anyway untill they grow up. Or make a ripper mistake like these fellas.
Glad they made it out with a story about it all but they could've have had a better one about slaying a few baz after winching out instead.
Remember the 5 P's fellas.... When heading out bush especially if you are interested in remote areas full of barramundi and potential disasters..
