Awful accident, traumatic for all involved. Sounds like heroic action on her part Barrajas.

The driver of the other boat would likely be in a world of hurt too, how terrible would you feel.

Crashing into the back of another boat? Must have been passing very close.

I am seeing the odd call for licencing and rego on the unsocial media, can't see how that would have prevented a rear ender.

Word is the NT Govt is broke, so expect to see all revenue raising options explored/introduced.

i'm amazed at how this could have occured, from what i have heard there was a mothership involved so if the small tinny pulls out from behind a mother ship to drive away from it and the other craft was coming in the same direction is all i can think.

A licence would definitely help, if what i propose above was what happened the bloke in the other craft would have kept a safe distance from an anchored vessel, they would have both known to give way to the vessel on their right etc.

Not a nice thing to hear about, all the best to all involved.

I don't know the full details, but sometimes accidents happen regardless of regulations, sometimes even with all due care being taken.

I'd like to see a study of trailerboat accidents per capita in the NT compared with other states, as it might illustrate whether licencing makes any difference.

I doubt licencing would even be a revenue raiser, as may not be enough NT boaters to cover admin costs.

Its meant to be common courtesy/knowledge to give any boat a wide berth. Licensing doesnt help that, its just money and a card, anyone can pass a course. Thought s with the family and skipper of the glass boat. Horrible accident.
