Gunn Point access closed?

Post by Matt Flynn »

I was told by a tackle shop staffer there is a big "no camping" sign out at Gunn Point.

I have asked Fisheries about it but no reply as yet.

Anyone seen the sign, got any details?

It’s not closed as such... just “restricted” maybe.

They are slowly going to restrict area as military want it for a deep water port.

This will be the new battleground for fishermen and campers and anyone who values the natural beauty and ecological richness of the Vernons area. I would be devastated if this area was harmed and if our access was restricted. There are precious few areas where people can go between Native Title land, Pastoral lease, National parks etc.....we don't want to lose this area as well.
No matter where you go, there you are!
