Coburg By Boat?

Hi All,

As the title says I'm looking to do Coburg by boat but I will admit to being confused about the permit system. If I'm not camping in the park do I still need a permit?!? :? Also, what should I expect in terms of the fishing? Mostly looking at casting to shallow coastal bommies with a bit of pelagic trolling thrown in.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

Cheers,

John.

If you are not setting foot on land, as it stands (may change in future with blue mud bay) you don’t need a permit.

John I done this trip a few times from the South Alligator and have not worried about permits . The only time I have got permits was when I actually towed my boat out there and stayed at Ruben Coopers . Fishing wise there is plenty of options with heaps of reefs just of shore, plenty of coastal rock for barra , cod , queenies, goldies etc and then mini mini system you will get similar .

fFitzy, has it correct but you will be a floating fuel tanker. also why not get a permit. It allows you to feel earth again unless you can't get a permit due to the wet.

Get a permit, easy as ( misses done it but she just said Easy :D )

I know Allen ( head ranger ) from work and a great guy.

Great Jew and skinny fishing.
Rock oysters the size of your hand

Had a bronze fish a cast on poppers, off a beach for about a hour or two one afternoon and me and the misses had a ball throwning them all back to the dismay of some French and German tourists ( gave them a few each in the end and we didn't have to cook the next few nights as both brang us food for days )

Wouldn't drive it again as brand new trailer broke several things off.
