Boat didn't flip, it filled with water. Bung could be taken out I guess. It was around 6pm and tide was rising. I was only in about 1m water, about 300-500m from the mangroves.

Jeez, that's a shame. I assume there was a crack in the hull? Had a pretty intense experience coming back from the tiwis once with a big crack in a mate's hull

Definitely nothing can be done in this wind and you're running out of 'low' water tides to do anything with it. We have pulled tinny's back to the beach out of 15-20 ft before with a 2t boat and 175hp on the back and waited for the tide to run back out. I was planning the next 4 days out in Shoal Bay before this wind decided to hang around. If I do get out (wind) I'll take some gear and have a look for you.

Hope you had insurance.

I was in about 4 ft of water when I bailed, and it was getting close to high tide so I think if it stayed in place it'd be visible on low tide. It's a small, light tinny (I pulled it on to my trailer with one arm) with a 15hp mariner. Thanks Ninja.

No cracks, motor was flooded and couldn't get out of the white wash of the waves which filled the tinny quickly.

Not sure if the tide would move it, it was upright full of water..?

Tide was about 4m @ 6pm Wednesday. Thursday would have been the best day for a rescue on the low and if it stayed, would have been high and dry.

I thought about that too Flickin. Anchor would have helped and you really want some calm water to play in. As keen as I am, I can't go now until tomorrow. I've got the deckie to come along too.

Hopefully some good news from 2 brothers this arvo. Pm me your number if you want to.

Just found out there was another tinny that sunk pretty close to there too, on the same day.
