Hi Guys,

Heading down to Ngukurr for a few days for work later this week and I was hoping to get a sneaky fish in early morning and night. Can anybody shed some light on how the Roper Bar fishes this time of year, what lures to use and also if there are any spots around the township that produce fish.

i'll be fishing landbased but happy to go for a decent walk/drive to find some fish.

Thanks in advance.

There's some great rockbars just down from the crossing but you'll need a tinny to fish them. You could ask Roper Bar store if a local has a tinny to borrow/rent?

LB is tough. You might get a barra off the crossing, probably a better chance at night if you dare, but it is a wet season spot.

Talk to the community people at Ngukurr. They have "come-back" boats for use.

The local school teachers etc have boats as well. Give the school a ring. So do coppers.

Ngukurr store (unless somethings changed recently) can be accessed by boat.

Walk from ramp to store.

If you're after fuel then 20 litre jerries only and they'll send a vehicle down to ramp for you.
