Harbour Jews
Hit the harbour on Saturday night, conditions perfect for Jews and they didn't let us down. Biggest 116cm. Cheers to me good mate off here Jerro for the trip. How do locals up here rate these guys to eat? Any tips?

Re: Harbour Jews
You’re not wrong, pretty much a whole drawer in the freezer full of jew meat! We bled them well immediately then put em straight on ice, so the fillets are in beautiful nick. Just so fat! Agreed though, not as good as a trout or emperor but then again not much is. Would take a jew fillet over Barra hands down.Flickin4em wrote:Whilst there are better reefies out there the jew definitely still go alright on the chew. Plus they're usually massive so they have heaps of meat on them.
Flour egg and breadcrumb chunks or fillet shapes similar thickcness to jeffish or thinner for crisp little nuggets .. mmm, mmm.
Should have a few kg of fillets out of that lot well done fellas . Were you jigging placcies or octos? or just soaking baits. ?
Just got em on a cocktail of pillies and baby squid.

cheers Matt, yeah the Territory goes alright hey. Some folk remind me a lot of the Karratha locals where Im from, whereby it’s red or nothing, and your Spaniard can go to the neighbours catMatt Flynn wrote:Great work

Bigger Jewies are also good for cubing, light flour, and rice with sweet & sour.

Yeah nice work Rossco
At the risk of 'thread-jacking' - is that the BabyQ?
If so, do have an issue with grease/oil dripping out the back of it (I've got a constant battle mopping the $hit off the pavers below it every time I do a roast ).

Mine's the next one up from the BabyQ mate, and yeah she drips oil like an 81 Sigma. Pretty common issue I think, although mine's probably not helped by the fact I never clean the b*stard properlyslug wrote:Yeah nice work Rossco

The drips run out of the lid in the open position.
BBQ wipes for the inside lip of the lid and the whole lid every time before cooking slows that down.
