Travelling to the Territory

Hey guys, the wife and I are heading up to the Territory next week, we're up there for about a month, we're towing up our 5m Top Ender, trailer is modded with eye to eye springs and Cruiser hubs and wheels. Vehicle is a 2014 Cruiser Ute with Camper back fully set up for remote isolated camping.
We've never been up that way before, been reading up on where to go, but figured I'd ask the pro's. From what I've read, Shady Camp seems to be one place to go, Daly is another. I've tried getting in contact with Woolianna to see how hard it would be to get a powered site for a week or so, but to no avail, I'll keep trying.
Any suggestions or advice before we head off, either on where to go, what the roads are like to navigate, areas to avoid, anything we should make sure we don't forget etc.
I'm guessing the weather is going to be up to shite, but we can deal with that. We obviously would love to join the Meter Club if possible, won't be from lack of trying.

Anyway, look forward to reading your replies and travelling around the Territory.

Try Sinclairs on the Daly they normally have a few campsites with power.
You can camp at shady if you have a lot of blood you can spare to the mozzies. Better to day trip it there.

There is Lee and Jenny's place down the Daly.
There number is 0427 030 556
It can be difficult to get them by phone, reception is not good.
You can just turn up, they have plenty of available sites at this time of year.
They are on the Woolliana Road, just after Bamboo Creek.
Woolliana is not open, and will not open until April.
At this time of year, I think most of the places to stay down the Daly are closed.
Bamboo Creek can be a good place to catch a fish.

Bring a rain coat where ever you go. Next week should see the Roper and Daly start to rise http://www.usno.navy.mil/NOOC/nmfc-ph/R ... sh1215.gif

Swoffa, I think you might be on a win there, somewhere else we have been talking about going often, especialy when we do our normal run up to Karumba, and now can't see why we don't.
Thanks for that, much appreciated.

Anothet top notch spot is the "SandPalms" resort close to dundee. Good location because it's all between Finniss river area, dundee blue water grounds and there is a boat ramp about 3km away that takes you out to endless esuturine habitats! Folks that own it are great and the old boys a laugh to. Good food, powered camp sites and showers and toilets to
