Hey guys.

I'm new to this forum(well posting on it anyway), I've been in Darwin for nearly the last 18 months and have had next to no luck on the fishing front! I don't know what I have been doing wrong, I have been reading all the articles posted here on your site with great interest and have tried just about everything and everywhere people have sugested for land based fishing! So I'm going to put the pride aside and officially ask for some HELP?

I am going to head out for a fish tonight, I am completely out of ideas as to where I should go and when... I know the low tide will be around 5 this afternoon, and I'm wondering if anybody can point me in a direction that will assist me in getting a few scaly ones in the bag. I don't mind what sort of fish-reefies, pelagics or barra. ANY of them would be welcome! Is there any land based gurus that would be able to assist me? Or is anybody going for a fish tonight that wouldn't mind if I tagged along to learn a thing or two? I don't mind walking a mile to a fishing spot or spending and hour or two collecting live bait.... I am willing to put the hard yards in(as I have been for many moons now) if It means I am in with a shot of catching something... I have a courier Ute which will get me into most spots as long as it isn't too rutted or muddy.

Hope to hear your thoughts, and thank you in advance!
Cheers, Col.

don't expect pelagics in landbased too often. neapish tides this weekend will give you chance to do casting lures. maybe 100 casts per 1 strike. hookup is another thing, and so is landing the fish :) I dunoo, but I would not go far Darwin to test my rigs and luck this weekend. deck chair, wharf, east point rocks , nightcliff gettiy , buff creek, rapid creek .. all have to offer. all you need is timing, patience and accept fishes are all not that wide as your carpet :) good luck.

Colburg, I'd absolutely jump on that offer. You will get no better advice.

There are a lot of landbased fishos around. Get a hold of the FishFinder mag as well
Available at all good bookshops and tackleshops :D

I noticed Geoff (BarraBase.com) didn't leave his number.
It is 0412 012 712.

He is certainly one of the gun guides up there. I would almost guarantee the advice & tips he will give, will put you onto your 1st fish.
He has been guiding up the for 30yrs.

Let us all know how you get on.
