Thinking about heading to channel point to have a crack at a Jew. And some reefies/Mack's. Just wondering if these tides are good for Jew there?

Might go for a cruise to Melville/Bathurst next weekend for a look, should be ok.

Depends on the weather, looking good at the moment, and the home front!

Yeh might hold off on CP till there's about 3or4 meters of run. Might head to vernons instead try jigging those drop offs.

Better chance for a Jewie at the vernon than cp on those neaps

I predict fishing will be very slow down there with those neaps, better off heading to tiwis when it's like that.

If I were heading down that way and I probably will be unless its a very very good weekend I would be pretty happy with the tide, there are many options that open up if the jew dont bite ( I wouldnt discount them doing so) with that movment and a bit more on other swings on the weekend you could fish many palces around batemans and in closer to south peron that are normally difficult. I like the smaller tides in that part of the world, but I dont proffess rto be an expert. these days for me its a case of if you can go and the weather is good then the tide is secondary and just dictates the order that you do the rounds in down that way.

Still some good fishing to be had on the neaps down there. Drift those deep ledges at channel point and you should stumble on a jew at night. I don't like anchoring on those tides as the sharks and Powertail are a lot worse. Plenty of macs should be around and the cleaner water on the oyster ledges around the island for big queenies and other pelagics. Goldies on the shallow ledges in the run around the points that normally rip with tide. Try not to fish the change of tide but concentrate on the peak run periods. Good time to explore wider as well if you have the boat to do so.

And down size gear. Lighter sinkers and leaders/ lighter jig heads. Very lightly well presented baits/plastics are the key in clean water.
