So my mate and I wanted to do some fishing this weekend! However everything is against us! 12 knots, 4 metre tinny, no sounder, and not to far from town! Hahaha sounds impossible! I was thinking maybe a creek mouth for snapper and jewies? Maybe the harbour but with these tides and wind, are we wasting our time?desperate so 100 barrabucks for best advice? Thankyou and all advice appreciated!

I would be heading to Leeders or SWA and take a throw net and crab pots. At least if you launch morning and arvo it will be high tide so no problem getting over the rock bars

Look at the fish finder book for rockbar in west arm - pretty easy to find without sounder. Chance for a barra - jack or a pan size goldie or two. Take the crab pots while your down there - you might get lucky for a muddie or two. Either that troll the mouths of Reihcarts and Bleesers Creeks just of Dinah beach boat ramp for a barra or a salmon and a crab or two. If you get bored just nip over the flat water to the wharf rock wall and flick lures or drop baits near the inside wall fuel shed.
Just a couple of idea's for fishing without a sounder etc.
My two cents worth

Fish the rock bars up the elizabeth river.
Some nice bream around at this time of the year and out of the wind
