Saratoga Saturday

Post by STANDY »

Took a few newbies to fishing out to corroboree billabong Saturday.

Had a good day of mixed catch which included
Spotted perch ( a brown colour) first seen by a few on the boat.
Archer fish
Tarpon
p o w e r t a i l
And a healthy bag of Saratoga up to 65cm being the biggest. All on the boat landed a Saratoga or two in the 40-50s

No Barra in the boat but did see the boat in front land one just under legal.

Good to take a few new to fishing guys out and have them keen on buying rods and lures

Still a bit of water and probably a few weeks short of firing for barra. The amount of Saratoga (7 all up ) and landed a few cracker Tarpon
The recent cold snap bought the croc,s out as we saw a fair few out on the banks.

Great that you got friends onto some new fish.

Those spanglies are all over Australia, we used to catch them near Brisbane, might even be some inland around the Alice??

Shame they don't hit a kilo or two.

We used to get them swimming in big schools up down the pumping station creek out the back of petrie in Brisbane. You could get them in such a frenzy that you could catch them on the gold coloured paper you used to get in ciggie packets!!, used to just wrap it around a hook when they were really going for it.
