Manton on the moon

I hit Manton Dam on Wednesday night to check it out for the first time this year. My old man was up from down south so bought him along to let him wrestle with a few NT impoundment baz.
Things looked grim on the drive out as we drove through a heavy shower and we had to wait 20mins at the ramp for the rain to stop before launching.
I wasn't very confident as the moon was covered by heavy cloud but I was keen to test out my new IPilot that I had just installed on my minn kota.
I must say I love it already the ability to record a troll run is brilliant!
After about an hr on the water dad was the first to hook up with the baz hitting the classic HARD, a solid fight followed but the 75cm model eventually found the net, one very happy Dad!
Not long after it was my turn, once again a strong fight and a 79cm fish hit the deck.
From then on the baz's were on the chew with every second pass producing a fish. All except one fish that went about 60cm were solid barra at 84cm and a PB for Dad at 86cm.
But the highlite of the night came at about 1am when I hooked a better fish that berried me in the lilies. I was lucky and managed to work the fish out into the open and after a long fight Dad got the net under him. At 98cm its the biggest fish I landed out of Manton to date but I'll be back next month to try and beat it as I know there are bigger models in there.
We were off the water by 1.30am as our beds were calling us but it was a top night out on the water and great to get a rod in my hand as I hadn't had a fish in a while.
Cheers bullet
