Finally landed a Metery 102cm. I planned on taking my son over the coast on new years day for a few days barra fishing to celebrate his 8th birthday but ge got struck down by gastro. So off i went, i left tom price at 130pm, 300kms of dirt A quick stop to pick up my barcrusher, refuel And greeted by 25knot winds at the boat ramp. Just what i was after. Oh well it is what it is when you live inland so off i went ,reached my creek just on sundown and the ride was not that bad as i was going with the wind. A few close calls on a few sand bars as the tide was well and truly on the way out. The creek was quiet nothing biting, blowing hard and water temp down. Persistance pays off about 1.5hrs after the turn of the low boom my calcutta starts screaming Fish on. She jumped 6 or 7 times and ran me around the boat. First attempt at landing its jumps clean out the net and off on another surge towards the sticks. I finally landed the bazza and realized this could be the Metery ive dreamed of and yes it was 102cm of big silver pilbara barra. Also its true if a birds poops on you hook up the boat and get out fishing. This happened just before i left tom price so i may just stand under a few trees before every barra trip. Happy new year!
