125cm Tommy Cut Queen

7am, Saturday March 14.
Conditions were smooth in the Mouth of Tommy Cut Creek, I put a new Bomber lure on for the 1st troll of the day.
The lure had been in the water long enough for us to get breakfast out of the esky and whammo, line peeled.
Lots of head shakes and a massive leap, the fish was vertical completely out of the water. Heaps of long runs and head shakes.
We knew she was a big one, we just didn’t realise how big.
Took 25 minutes to bring her in, we grabbed some quick photos and put her back in the water to revive her.
We slow trawled for 30 minutes to get her breathing on her own and when she bit down and flicked her tail we knew she was going to be OK.
Once released, she gave us a last look at her, she flicked her tail and disappeared below the surface.
This is our first Metery, been trying for 20 years, definitely worth the wait.
On a side note,
It is one of the best feelings to catch a fish of a life time like this, but to revive and release her is something special too.
needless to say a few were had and enjoyed afterwards.
