About time Daly 104

Hi all this has been about 20+ years in the making.
Went down to the Daly for an overnighter to see what we could find. Arrived early sat morning to find only about 10 other cars at the ramp which i was suprised about thought there would be half of Darwin there. So we headed off down stream to what we could find in the way of runoff. Found a couple of small creeks with some colour running out and stopped for a flick to not much action at all
. We decided to keep on going down towards to mouth there was good clear water pumping out of the lizzy but with 2 guide boats and 2 other boats parked up there was no room left so keeped going. Worked our way down further and if there was water coming out there was a boat. It was looking like it was going to be a long couple of day
when we got hit by a decent storm. Decide to head back up to where there was some colour and to see if we could slip in to a spot. Pulled up at a creek mouth that was pushing some colour and to our suprise no boats
and we decided it looked as good as
as any so dropped the pick and proceded to bombard it with just about every lure we had. Well after about 2 hours and starting to loose faith then BANG Im on was called from my mate Alex and a couple of good runs and then F@#K
dropped pulled the hooks. At that we were shattered only decent hit all day so the rubbing of it in started
so a few
later It finaly happend.
BANG
Im on was called as the water erupted and and a good run but not much else so i called it for a good 70-80 model then as She came aroud the back of the bout she poked its head out of the water and
well Alex starts thats a bl..dy big 70 have you got your glasses on etc
. Well then the heart starts pumping and panic stages after some runs and some good arieal displays and with Alex on the net she slips in
. By this stage im shaking with joy that bad i could not hold the pliers to get the hooks out which Alex done for me and then on the measuring board and
104 which followed by some high fives and some girly squeals then with some quick photos she went back in and swam off strongly which was nice to see. But all in all it was pretty quite all round we spoke to some other boats which had no luck at all and some who caught some smaller ones. Did see another 104 caugth by one of the guides at the lizzy creek and drop another decent fish. Managed to pull a 63 out of a small creek that we pulled up into to cook a feed before we headed home so was nice to put something in the esky to make the beers taste better.
Poor Alex maybe next time
