Heaps of new FFF members joining, see attached, even if you exclude the ones who may be Goldfish :D

FFF is busy despite people posting their personal fishing reports on FB pages etc.

However, it would be good see new members and old getting more involved this year and not just visiting to see what others are posting.

Now I know you don’t have to use photo bucket to load pictures I may post a few more often. In saying that, I’m hopeless at taking pictures. Also extending my house this year, so fishing trips may be few and far between.

Don't think Photobucket works any more since they changed the rules for external links, they expect you to pay for that privilege

Matt, what about a monthly "sticky" Darwin Harbour or Shoal Bay thread? It might make a spot for those quick little weekend trips that some people don't feel warrant starting a new thread for.

People don’t post cause their posts end up printed in the mag???

Don't see the point, potentially the whole world can see a post on here, but in the mag it is limited by the print run.

And if a post makes the mag there is a chance to win a lure pack, quite a few lure packs have been won.

Circulation of the Sunday paper has dropped from mid 20 thousands to under 13 thousand in just a few years, advertising volume has dropped even quicker. NT News is one of Rupert's pet papers...once he shuffles off the coil who knows what's going to happen

Tiz an interesting time ...

Free to air TV has diminished
Print has diminished
YouTube is hugely popular but apparently doesn't make any money - anyone ever clicked a YouTube ad?
I've never clicked on a Facebook ad in my life, does anyone? I guess some people must or Facebook would be broke.
And Google ads dishes up a lot of sh.t, low-quality ads, some of the ads out there are pure deception.

Many people still use print, just more diluted now, same with TV, viewers/readers have so many options now, so do advertisers.
Many niche publications are still doing fine. My own mags have stabilised, sales nationally are steady, but it is very competitive now, if the mags suffer it will be from advertising changes or a downturn in the economy.

What I find interesting about the new information age is that there has never been so much bogus info about, and instead of getting a better education many people are just using the internet to find info that supports what they already believe.
