Barra, Salmon and Trevally

We decided to head around to Crystal Creek chasing some jacks and goldies along the way, but the wind had other ideas so we decided to cut it short and head to Anson Bay to hide. Upon arriving in Dochertys we were met with thousands of small to medium salmon and some smaller barra. A small gill net rigged in one of the creek which was soon taken care of and reported.

We hit the cliffs in the mornings with some mixed results including barra, trevally, queenies and salmon.

Waking up on the boat to clear skies and glass conditions was a blessing. unfortunately it was for the run home that day and not whilst we were there fishing..

Scored a couple nice crabs which were turned into crab fried rice and barra pieces for dinner back home.

Great report, don't hear too much from out that way.

The weather looks tough!

I should have taken pics of all the gill nets I’ve seen over the years. Found one once that was about a 100-120mm mesh. No fish but plenty of holes in it, clearly not made for Barra nor made in Australia.

Great pics.

Great area down that way. Nice reminder of the sort of remote places that are available to fish.....for now anyway.

Thanks for sharing
