Nothing special but i know i always wanna know if theres fish where i wanna go so ill throw a quick report in.
Had to work Saturday so decided to take old mates polycraft for a run to shady with my son to see how Shady is.
Got to ramp at 6am after an issue with trailer lights requiring my light board from home only to launch boat and not have motor start. Old mate assured me it kicked over at home, pulled back out and tried everything, turns out combination of dodgy isolation switch + corroded connections to battery. So the three of us start the drive up the river around 7-730.
get to the mouth and do a couple of trolls for zip and head back in to a creek area where some other boats are nearbye, while re rigging some plastics see a young fella and his dad smashing a few rats and we move a bit upstream from them.
i hook an estimated 75cm specimen to notice that old mate left the net at home...lost as im lifting it in.
next hour or so is a hook up a cast between the 3 of us, boating 5 (between 60-70cm) losing 4 to no net and dropping probably half a dozen or more. couple of boats either side of us doing as good or better then us in the same time frame, saw some other kids landing barra which is always good to see.
Young fella boated his first legal barra (last one went 54cm and he was devestated) as per photo was happy and wants to go back.
Kept 1 each coz we arent greedy but wanted a feed, all in all was a good trip considering it was almost a turn around at the ramp scenario if it wasn't for my leatherman.
