Ord Advice

Post by fff1964 »

Guy’s was planning to do a trip to the Berkley River out of the Ord, but have got some advice since that has changed my mind and to stick to the
Ord and lower tributaries, if any one has any advice on this area, such as campsites, tides , time of year and the usual ground work stuff it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance fff1964

October is good, water temp not too hot, not too cold. Tdes really only detirmine where you fish rather than when. Neaps you go further down, springs the tides will move further up the river.

Mambi boat ramp is prety good place to camp, nice and shady and positions you on the uppper limit of the biggest tides.

Not marked on the topo map but it and Skull Rock ramp may well be in the Fish Finder Fingie, mine has gone awol so can't check. To get to Mambi head out of town on the Highway towards Wyndham about 15ks, turn right onto Valentines Road, follow that for about 30-40ks and turn right at the blue boat ramp sign, you're there.
