Try St Kilda Fishing Charters ... I haven't fished with them but I have met the skipper and seen the boat.

Skipper seemed to know his stuff and the boat looked tidy. Can also vouch for the skipper being a decent bloke.

The weather is the main factor, he said snapper fishing last year was good but the weather was poor.

When I was there it was blowing hard.

I slept in my boat off the highway just outside Melbourne, woke up with ice on the canopy, next time I drive south I won't take shorts and a summer sleeping bag

Weather is warming up now and good reports of snapper are filtering in on a daily basis. By November the ocean beds will be red with snapper. Without doubt the best bloke to go with is gwaine blake, whatever you want he will put you on the fish.... very able fisherman, dont have his number but you should be able to get it on the net. uses all quality gear and there are plenty of hacks out at port phillip bay that dont have a clue that charge good money for a charter and all you do is drift for flatties.

Gawaine gets good results, but he is not with ThinkBig anymore. He and winga had a falling out....
He is running his own now http://bigtimefishingcharters.com.au/profile

Whilst ThinkBig is being chartered under a new skipper

Can also try Matt Cini of http://www.reeltimefishing.com.au/
always gets big numbers of school fish

Matthew Hunt(Rexs son) also has a very good rep
http://www.fishingservices.com.au/

Take one of these, they'll get you results.

If I had a bigger boat I'd take you out for nothing, but I am far to dependant on weather in my little tinny. I got 3 yesterday in Westernport, things moving along nicely for the coming months

Good decision. He's been bagging out most days with ease

There is an obscene amount of snapper in the bay this spring
