Worked late last night and was up late at home doing nothing ,so i decided i'd sit it out and go out in the Bay for the morning, even though the arse is completly out of the barometer with this low.

Water was a bit choppy, but not to bad, wasn't overly confident, low barometer usually means zilch. However a couple minutes in and two rods buckled over just on daylight, only to both spit it. Thought I was going to be in for a blinder but this process repeated itself. Rods bending over, then letting go,or losing entire silver whiting without the rod moving, unsure how they can get it off without hooking themsleves or at least bending the rod in half. Eventualy hooked one that screamed off only to lose it just under the boat, was a reasonable fish of around 6-7lb. Finally landed a small one, then it shut down.
Should of got at least 3-4,they were genius's at taking the bait this morning. Need the barometer back up so they start smashing baits again. Wednesday or thursday morning I'll have another crack.

Had a go at the Calamari on the way in, bagged out in no time on small to medium squid.
Snapper and calamari for tea :chef2:

I don't know about "Eucumbeme", but jonesy is in Vic, Eildon is in Vic, and Lake Eucumbene is only 60k over the border, so I said Vic :P

Barometer is high, and light winds,so had to head out this morning before work.

I put out an even spread of baits to see which would work, 1 silver whiting,1 squid head,1 pilchard,1 scad.
5 minutes in the silver whiting buckled over and we were on the board. Followed up with another 2 runs on the whiting rod, dropping a good fish in the 8-10lb range. Then the fish switched to Squid heads after that.
had the bag limit by 6.30. Released another 2 after that,5 fish by 7am, pretty good going.
Went in and had a go at the squid for an hour for only 1. He will be used tommorow morning when I venture out again, have to make the most of it before the weather turns foul again over the weekend

Definetly Faulksy. Was a graveyard in the 90's,then they woke up and got rid of the scallop dredgers that raped the floor clean of any growth. Reckon about 2003-4 it started going off again. Each year seems to get better....not for me this year, but many blokes saying best season ever. Personally I thought last years was better by a mile, but still plenty of time left yet
