Just thought I'd share some pics of a couple of blue grenadier caught in about 530mts off Portland Image

Not much winding some would say electric reels not fishing certainly interesting though

they are very tasty

takes two hours to recuperate from winding up the sinker if you don't have an electric reel, two days if you wind up a fish :lol:

been in tassie too long mate. Making you soft. Its worse when you get a triple of 15kg puka or blue eye. 3 big buckets haha

Winding anything in at that depth would cause a serious case of RSI! :o

I fished 130-140 in Bathurst trench last year, caught three big reds and didn't want to play that game again.
Bugger over 500m without an electric, take you half an hour just to wind it in without a fish on, be p...ed if you kept getting baited hey lol

Wow, deepest I've fished off Darwin is 46m. I assume you dont anchor but drift? Must have a k of line out to go down 500m!!

I originally thought 'geez 530m off Portland -thats close to shore' :lol:
I used to get dressed up like that for fishing as well :lipsrsealed:

Yep jealous as would much rather fish in shorts, thongs and tank top !!
