The 2023/24 wet season chronicles
Cyclone coming in around Cairns/Port Douglas region, Qld's East Coast down to Mackay getting some rain, looks like the cyclone might head across Gulf and bring some rain to the Top End.
Adelaide having its second cracker thunderstorm front with a line of storms heading down Yorke Peninsula, a relly told me last week's storm was the biggest they could remember in Adelaide.
Bit of rain forming over the Top End.

BOM's forecast today for Cyclone Jasper ...
"Ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper is expected to move into the Gulf of Carpentaria during the weekend but is not expected to intensify significantly.
There is large uncertainty around both its movement and strength next week but It could re-intensify near the Top End coast later in the week."
Also a major flood warning for NQ's Daintree River.

Ex Jasper may be heading east ...
From BOM ...
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper remains as a weak tropical low over Cape York Peninsula.
Refer to current Severe Weather and Flood Warnings via: www.bom.gov.au/qld/warnings/
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper remains slow moving over the Cape York Peninsula land.
The low is weak and even though it may temporarily move over eastern Gulf of Carpentaria waters late in the week and in the weekend, the low has Very Low risk of re-developing into a tropical cyclone.
Early next week, the low may move eastwards across the the Cape York Peninsula and be located in the northwest Coral Sea, south of Papua New Guinea.
The conditions in the Coral Sea are marginally favourable for slight development. The area will be monitored for changes during the week and forecast updated accordingly.

Re: The 2023/24 wet season chronicles
The recent Storm in SEQ that claimed the 3 lives in Moreton Bay south of Green Island is actually my home turf. Locals reported the weather that came through that afternoon was reminiscent to a Tornado. It took rooves off and laid down 100 year old trees on the waterfront.Matt Flynn wrote: Wed Dec 27, 2023 11:03 am Deaths in the storms ... https://www.news.com.au/technology/envi ... 7e3c4f32e0
Sadly enough, two of the blokes that passed were involved with my Senior Rugby club and one of them was a well liked teacher and ex QLD representative rugby player who taught at the local Boys College.
Sad times in the Southern Bay community.
