Packing them in like sardines

Post by Matt Flynn »

A great story about the Australian immigration ponzi scheme, relevant here because more people puts more strain on natural resources such as fish stocks ... https://www.news.com.au/finance/economy ... ff47fcfc0d

The hospitals would be pretty short on doctors, nurses, PCAs, cleaners and cooks if we didn't have good numbers of immigrants

I'm sure it's not the only industry like that

Agreed, yet the housing and resource issues remain.

Humans don't have an apex predator to keep them in check :D

The latest migration news ... https://www.news.com.au/finance/economy ... 26fc15e9b6

Already severe restrictions on fish stocks, eg complete ban on taking SA snapper, also Perth garfish, severe restrictions on south-west WA reef fish, ongoing Qld ban on barramundi cod, NSW bans on marine cod species, tight management now of Qld jewfish and mackerel, the Gulf of Carpentaria prawn industry never fully recovered from overfishing, Shark Bay's snapper have draconian restrictions (which saved the fishery), the Murray River is full of carp, Tassie sand flathead disappearing, even the pipis are being smashed on South Aussie beaches etc etc, and now we have the added pressure of climate change screwing up habitat, possibly also messing with our future crop productivity, and in the face of all this the federal government is proceeding with record immigration.

This is nothing to do with racial issues, just the huge migration numbers.

If the federal government is trying to prop up the economy it doesn't seem to be working, what we are getting instead is rapidly rising costs of houses, rent, food, electricity etc, and more people becoming homeless.

Maybe the government needs more workers to pay for growth in old age pensions? But then there will be more old age pensions needed down the track ...

Meanwhile, Venezuela is the latest Russian-backed mob to decide to invade a neighbouring country, things are heating up globally. Maybe the Australian defence force has asked for a bigger pool of potential soldiers? Only half joking ...

Fish on!
