It wouldn't be right not to take the visitors to the bong. It was a very nice morning on the water with just the one 65cm and then got checked by the water police on our way back to the ramp. Then we top the trip off with some amazing pizzas and drinks at the Purple Mango.

This was probably the best fight I’ve ever had with a Barra. She stared out by taking a heap a line and headed for the rocks. Once I got her out in the open she would go deep and then would come flying up to the surface launching herself more then a meter out of the water and doing summersaults. It was very impressive for an 87cm fish, but unfortunately in the fight she damaged her gills and couldn’t be released.

Long time between posts here is some pics from. Recent build up trips in harbour and the bay. Finding the harbour is full of rats at the moment along with plenty of threadies.

Matt that was the first time for me too. Also spotted longtails feeding on them at east point in June this year have never seen them this close. Did a trip yesterday to west arm. Tally for the day 10 hooked 6 landed 3 legal. Lost a thready and landed a blue. Weather was good to me missed all of the rain and wind stayed down.

Went for a little cruise last Saturday to Blue Holes and SW Vernon, explored a few new areas and had some fun, more than 10 species caught, a few unusual ones as well as a few good sized ones, another amazing trip
With a low tide less than a metre, a great time to fish along the edge of the reefs, got a few small Barra as well and lost a good one around 80cm

If there is water and it holds fish, then it is fun trying to fool them into eating what you offer!!
Especially when you can see them!

That's it for the year, will have a winner shortly.
Some great fishing pix, nothing like outdoor time to offset all the cr.p that otherwise defined 2022!
