I got an odd one on the weekend
A trigger fish off Marie shoal. Odd fish, big old teeth, yet no bottom jaw for the lip grips to grasp properly. Little slits for gills, not the usual gill plates that meet under tne head.
Also got a Maori sea peach too which was a very pretty snd tasty fish.

Trigger fish attack divers on occasion, looks like a bite from that would wake you up.
Maori sea perch are good eating but I opened one up and have never smelled a gut cavity like it, like very old oysters that were ripe but not quite rotten.
