$54m spend for "barramundi highway"

Talk about bungled boat ramps, net buybacks, marine no-go zones, mining disasters etc here.

$54m spend for "barramundi highway"

Post by Matt Flynn » Wed Sep 11, 2019 12:36 pm

See attached. Aurora Kakadu will be pleased.

Oh, hang on ...

Seriously, if they spend the money on making Kakadu tracks more often useable, and opened a bit more of Kakadu up, including the West Alligator River, they'd see return on investment. And jobs.

Who visits the NT to see new bitumen?

How long is the Arnhem Hwy closed on average each year? Hardly any time at all.

If you live out there though, yes, a better road would be welcome as it would be a bummer not being able to get home during flooding.

You are absolutely right. Kakadu is an easy fix, take it and it’s budget of parks Australia and give it to parks and wildlife.

Litchfield is being looked after by someone. Maybe Kakadu has gone into the too hard basket.
Today’s NT News snippet.

Yes...Kakadon't has been progressively getting worse with access...later and later each year....and people including myself have been complaining about it for many many years....so what to do about it?
No matter where you go, there you are!
