It would be really great if anyone heading to it out keeps this thread updated for us all.

Waste of fuel this time. No fish there today.. was hot as buggery too, even had a super quick dip in the rapids to cool down before heading back out road was OK but a fair few washouts to watch out for on the way. :D

It's a good spot in the wet or after. Had a crack night time last year when she was about half a metre over the crossing and counted 5 crocs there the biggest one was stalking us as we moved around the banks.

Update 31st December approx 09:30

Good flow of water looks very inviting but no thanks

Some lads were prepping the rooftopper on the high side whilst we were there

On the way to Litchfield for a dip at Wangi with the sooty grunters

Was bored so headed out for a lap...both fly ck and manton need way more water wheras the Adelaide at the Marrakai Track was 1.2m on the crossing and was already in runoff mode from 3 - 4m above this level today already which was good to see did u check the depth on the other day ninjafish it was well over my bellybutton to get to the paperbark trees today

No fish were forthcoming either this time ..... just in case you fellas sitting at home on the couch checking the ipad for reports were wondering but I only had a 15 min go at it with just 1 of my lures before I left chasing greener pastures elsewhere.

The M6 LITTLE LUCIFER with 4X owners was my lure for todays effort .. but no bites suprisingly :bonk:

A night session on the turn of high tide (6hrs behind on the springs) might be a different story with a few different lures to go through or a decent live tarpon or perch in the eddies below the crossing in the next couple of days would yield better results

The road out that way is holding up OK considering more than a few young fellas out that way are treating it as a full on rally track with their 35 inch kitted out V8 Cruisers these days.

not jelous at all, go hard boys!!!! 8)

I would've been guilty of doing the same thing a few decades ago in the same section without the chance of my car being seized for hooning like nowadays

BE CAREFUL it's pretty slippery out that way after a huge storm kids.

It's been a year since I was there and guessed it at 1.2 but now realise it was a lot more.

The two big trees in your pic were down around the corner, about 25-30m from the water edge with water still rising but not sure if that was tidal influence. Bamboo rafts and logs building against the trees then cracking against their weight, shattering the silence before moving on further down the river. We hung around just to witness the first run and tried a few spots in the eddies for nil. You could still drive down to the banks at the 2 launching spots on the day.
