Charles Point wide
Im thinking of heading out Friday arvo/ night to fish the change of tide at 9.45 PM
Is there a drama coming back into the harbour with the tide rising at night?
Im new to this so will be GPSing the route on the way out and following the same on the way back
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
thanks

you should be fine as long as you don't go fast in the dark. People will sit anywhere in the harbour with no lights and just hope that you see them.
or get a big spotlight mounted
watch out for floating debris ,especially in the wet season. I saw a couple of logs yesterday that would upset any boat if struck.
enjoy

Thanks for the advice.
I have a pretty good light bar on the front which I can use if in doubt.
I was more worried about the rocks around the tip of Mandorah and the tide on the way back.
Hopefully be able to post some pics

I would suggest staying wide of Charles & Mendora the first couple of times at night or until you have at least done many day trips to find a safe all tide track . Charles is a nasty place at night in bad weather stay a few Km off shore . Safest bet is straight up the guts of the shipping channel keep watch and monitor
ch 10 for shipping movements . you can even call up Harbour control and request shipping info.
I've done a few hundred night trips and its only as safe as you make it ,
P.S
Beware of coastal Barges . As they are above the Law and can ram anyone they please.

In the past I've found it bl..dy hard to pick up some large vessels against the backlight of the city. Steady, steady coming back.

What is the Charles Point fishing closure? Was at Buff creek yesterday and noticed that on the sign board.
