Re: Trump
More evidence of lost marbles, the quote below taken from here .... https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/201 ... -windmills
Quote from article ...
But it was his rambling and often nonsensical remarks about wind turbines, during a diatribe against the Green New Deal and renewable energy resources, that raised eyebrows.
“They’re made in China and Germany mostly,” Trump said of wind turbines, of which there are more than 57,000 across the US, according to the American Wind Energy Association. “But they’re manufactured tremendous if you’re into this, tremendous fumes. Gases are spewing into the atmosphere. You know we have a world, right? So the world is tiny compared to the universe. So tremendous, tremendous amount of fumes and everything.
“You talk about the carbon footprint, fumes are spewing into the air, right? Spewing. Whether it’s in China, Germany, it’s going into the air. It’s our air, their air, everything, right?
“You see all those [windmills]. They’re all different shades of color,” he said. “They’re like sort of white, but one is like an orange-white. It’s my favorite color, orange.”

Re: Trump
Be reasonable to say the thought of impeachment is getting to him.
Only the 3rd US president to be impeached (Jeffersen, Clinton and "The Don"). Nixon resigned knowing that he'd be impeached for his involvement in Watergate.
This is a guy that has never had any actions questioned. Has always been the top dog in his activities. Hard for him to accept that in the political industry there are checks and balances..
US people know that but have been prepared to still support him at home in the capitalist US 'cos he's good for business.
Rats..t at international affairs though.
The impeachment trial in US Senate needs 60% in favour to convict him. Hard to see that happening unless quite a number of republicans decide to abandon him which is unlikely.
Impeachment trials along party lines isn't really what the founding fathers had in mind all those years ago.
Being handed a very public reminder that he isn't above the law is something that "The Donald's" ego hasn't had much experience in dealing with.
He's still a buffoon.

Re: Trump
My view of the Middle East shenanigans.
There is an insurance policy for Trumps diplomatic and sanctions flounderings in how his administration is handling Iran.
Iran is playing "influence by proxy" in destabilising the Middle East. Supporting, sponsoring and supplying the protest/terrorist organisations which abound there in other countries. That's what got the Iranian army guy killed by drone strike.
What Iran is actually doing is playing a twist the dog's tail (the US) by its nuisance actions. It knows that the EU countries are not inclined to take them on.
Iran has always pledged to annihilate Israel and it's development of a nuclear capability is essential for that to happen.
The US knows that and is using trade sanctions etc to reduce Iran's progress. But that's always going to be a stalling policy.
However, the country with the most to lose if Iran gets its hands on nuclear arms, is Israel. They don't trade with or talk to Iran.
But they know exactly what progress Iran has made with that and would have noted Iran's intention to speed up the process. They know what will follow if Iran is allowed to produce a nuclear weapon.
Israel will strike at these nuclear development sites when they believe that the threat has increased sufficiently to do so. They've already displayed that policy in respect of enemies developing weapons of mass destruction within the Middle East.
There may well be widespread conflict as a result but at least it won't be nuclear conflict AND it won't be the US that starts it. But they will defend Israel as will European countries.
The situation hasn't reached the exciting stage yet but its building.

Re: Trump
Sanity prevailed, just. The swamp drained itself.
Good speech from Biden .... https://www.news.com.au/world/north-ame ... 9aebbf1565
Hard to believe, after the COVID incompetence, the blatant bullsh.t ... and everything else ... that Trump got any votes at all. His followers seem to be rusted on.
Not that much will change now, the rich will get richer, the poor poorer, yada yada.
