Soft plastic magic

Post by Skippadman »

We headed out over the last set of neaps and set the challenge to catch a feed on soft plastics. The wind on Friday was settling down so we planned a Friday night/Sat trip. Launching from Dundee on the last tractor on Fri arvo, we were soon under way. First drop was a nice mixed bag and when the tide was right, we dropped the lures on some nice goldies. Quickly bagged out so we then got set for some barra the next day. A dozen odd barra to 70cm were landed with a few bigger ones lost. On the way home we finished with some blue salmon. A great trip with plenty of beers!

Great haul Skippa, we got onto some nice goldies at Bass on Friday night, unfortunately the other boat we were with broke down so I had to stop fishing for a 45km very slow tow back into Bynoe... Where did you anchor up for the night?

That's a bugger mate. At least you got some goldies. We anchored up near the Perons.

Well done nice haul

Love using softies, never know what's gonna eat them
If there is water and it holds fish, then it is fun trying to fool them into eating what you offer!!

Especially when you can see them!

Awesome work. Great feed there skip. Although think your selling yourself short on big goldies. Looks closer to high 60s if not 70 by looking howmuch tail is over hanging :) they are good fun around that size

They sure are mate. I think a few too many beers were consumed before that photo was taken :)

Well if you catch a nice feed like that and have great conditions always gotta celebrate one way or another 8) I did the same mistake with my mates cobia from out dundee area. When we first measured it it read 110. But then realized after photo we had about 10-15cm of its nose over hanging too excited I guess haha
