quick vernon trip 14.5.16

Post by Chubbs93 »

Took advantage of window in the wind last night, i took some lads out to vernons, wind was still blowing at 5 and by 7 it was pretty much a glass of for rest off night. We put some crab pots in leaders and then headed out for a fish, we fished some shallow water while we waited for tide to slow caught a handful of goldies and blue salmon which were really good fun to catch in 2m of water.

We then headed over to sw channel 40-50m and started fishing, first drop I had no sooner flicked bail over and I was on! called it a big goldie by the way it so hard, began fighting fish then got smashed hard by the tax man, still had some weight and wound in what was left of a nice looking jew oh well we knew the fish where there but had to be on a game.

The Fishing was great, tax man gave us a bit of grief but we still managed to get a few in the boat but was a good laugh stirring each other up the closer it got to low tide the slower the fishing got, we fished until 8.30 had a good mix of gold and jew and made our way back into leaders to check pots we only got 2 keepers that where nice full bucks, so we headed home with a nice feed after only a few hrs out.

Nice haul there Chubbs, we did similar conditions in Bynoe last night for 5 goldies, no Jewies anywhere to be seen out wide.

good work chubbs, some great fish there
If there is water and it holds fish, then it is fun trying to fool them into eating what you offer!!

Especially when you can see them!
