Hey does anybody know what lures should be good at lake Bennett, I'm going down there at the end of February and hopefully the rain comes back so the creeks start flowing in there. My mates coming and is brining his 3m dinghy with a electric motor so we can get around the lake effortlessly to flick around.

I'd imagine surface lures as night would do well.

Surface lure and soft plastics are the go but just take cherabin pots and live bait.
Pretty sure you will get a barra if black bream leave it alone long enough.
Fish the dead forest. You'll know what I mean when you see it.
Ps- nothing flows into lake Bennet only out. Thats where the big fish are caught

OK I've never used soap but many people swear by it. Can someone tell me what it is that they like eating? Just curious
I use cat food tins or rabbit pellets with mixed results. Down the Daly cat food works a treat for some reason or theres just so many of them there you catch them on anything , may be just hiding in my pot to get away from the barra

We run chook pellets in a sock or rag n sometimes woolies roast chicken frames after they've been stripped for sandwiches.....less probs with freshies theres a fair few in there and I've lost about 8 new pots to the pr..ks.

As mentioned soap is good too.

I run 6" olive back x raps n have been pulled around in the tinny on the lake by barra up to 107cm.

They are super fussy being well fed impoundment barra. sometimes even the cherabin or live tarpons don't even get hit.

Going out soon and will start a new post if i get a few.
