We went to find you this morning. When you weren't there we assumed you had righted it overnight and got it in. Glad it went good overnight

Great to hear you got it righted guys
We came past early this morning and nothing to be seen, so thought it must have been good. You guys must have towed it in early as we were up at 5.30.
Have to have a post salvage drinks I think
Cheers everyone for helping

If there is water and it holds fish, then it is fun trying to fool them into eating what you offer!!
Especially when you can see them!

The boys worked on it all night. Cut it tight for the high tide at the ramp though. Tried calling you but no response , radioAgent86 wrote:Great to hear you got it righted guys

Re: Salvage effort for boat sunk near Bateman's
Hey guys
First off just want to say a big thank you to all involved. We started the adventure leaving from Dundee about 6.30ish and after some minor issues and bad weather holding us to a moderate speed we managed to near channel point around 10.30 which turned into a bit of a effort for Dave to manage to scrabble through 100m of mud to walk to the boats with a heap of last minute gear. After finally getting him on board we all headed toward the GPS coordinates given only to find nothing... As we were all thinking the worst agent 86 who was heading out from a different direction actually found it again. It had broken anchor and drifted for kms then hooked up again.
After a brief dive and discovering there is a 4-5 hole in the hull we decided to leave it upside down and tow later on the high tide and we would all go for a quick fish while we were waiting. So after a quick flick and pulling in a massive bluebone we decided to all head back again to find it missing again. Believe or not it broke anchor again (this happened even after a second anchor was attached) and once again agent 86 found it again (starting to think he must have radar by now) so nomad and 86 both took over towing it into the shallows. Once near the drying spit 86 did a awesome job of getting it in nice and close and we anchored her again and went 50m to fish for Queenie's. We all had a awesome session on them hooking them left right and centre, special mention to Jordan here. Seen him hook up almost every cast I reckon. In the mayhem no-one noticed it drifted back off the spit into deeper water so I hooked up and struggled to drag her right onto the spit and beached both boats. Bellfish, dave, Ross and myself spent the next 6hrs righting her, fixing the hole, attaching large floats, and stripping the outboard. We were ready to go as the tide was almost at the boat and nomad come over to take up the final tow to the ramp. Could not have asked for better weather for the tow back, and after a bit of mucking around at the ramp she was safe and sound back on the trailer. After having a celebratory feed and drinks at sandpalms we got her quickly back to the workshop to try to save the outboard which is going well ATM. Dave has all photos and I will be getting them tommorow to put up.
Cheers again to nomad, agent 86, Jordan, bellfish, fish4me123 and ross and anyone else involved the I may have left out.
Cheers
Scott

Re: Salvage effort for boat sunk near Bateman's
Just a quick update before some well needed sleep . . . The salvage was a success: we got the boat back to the channel point boat ramp and onto the trailer with many thanks for the efforts of all those involved with special thanks to agent 86, nomad, bell fish, wiggy, Greg and of course scotty5.3. The willingness to help out a bloke in need was humbling to say the least & None of this would have been possible without your efforts. From what I saw The Aussie spirit of lending a hand is alive and well, and i owe a great debt of gratitude to you all. Pictures and details of the salvage coming soon
