Sorry I'm a bit late on this, but hopefully you're still interested.
I use a SARCA and love it. It is great in all conditions, reef, sand, mud you name. If it get stuck you pretty much drive over the top of it and pull it out backwards.
I am running an anchor winch which makes it a bit easier as they are heavier than you normal pick.
The good thing about it is not having to change for different conditions.
They are more expensive but I rate them.

Thanks for the info, I considered these but thought I might lose it just as easily. I've pulled up 2 massive rocks, the last one so big I couldn't even get it the final 10 metres or so to see it. One of these would kill my pocket.pmck12 wrote:Sorry I'm a bit late on this, but hopefully you're still interested.

Yes that is the long term plan but unfortunately it's not in the budget. All I have so far is the funds to get the bow modified. I figure by getting that done and getting a quick release plate fitted, I'm at least in the position to use a loaner... I have a couple of AGM's in the camping kit to power it up.Brendan wrote:80lb electric motor with spot lock

Anyway for those interested, I scored the chain from Bullivants for under half the price of everybody else, and I will buy a Mooloolaba pick from Precision marine if I ever remember to call them and get it ordered... (keep forgetting) They gave me an excellent price, and were cheap on the chain too however I didn't need 50 metres.
