I always take a couple of small minnows, a few soft plastics, a spinner or two and a tassie devil with the travel rod.

Hello ,Marcel, if the main purpose is to catch a fish, no mockin around dragging it, handlines you should keep. Easy to store, you know what I mean no maintenance aside rinsing them in tap water. You can float a handline rig anytiime . When it comes to true grit and grind fishing, landbased or boatbased or whatever based fishing , handlines will land you a fish. Every sailor, boatie or anyone that threads the seas should have a set
Btw ..... If you think you will tend towards using your hands at the last moment winching up the fish, never rig a braid. Braids are deadly sharp. CIAs tool for decapitatings, lol.

There is a strange feeling about land-based fishing that lures me back time after time.....by Jarrod Day @ fishingmonthly.com.au
