NT in June

Post by pilbara130 »

Hi guys

Chasing some advise if its worth heading to Darwin in June for a week fishing for Barra. I've got a week off and looking to do something different I live in Exmouth WA. Who would be a good guide to contact.
Cheers
Dan

Really depends on the June, if you get some stable temperatures you can get a few fish in the billabongs. This year maybe not so good, although the barra catch was way up at Corroboree at the fly comp.

Same with the saltwater, patch of calm warm weather helps, you don't want to arrive on a sudden dip in the temperature.

But I've caught 'em way up top of the Adelaide River on very cold foggy July mornings, you won't get 'em if the lure isn't in the water that's for sure.

Dan, check out Dhipirri Barra and Sportfishing Lodge's face book page. This place is really firing. They have been getting meteries (& sometimes 3 or 4) most days for the last few weeks.
yesterday 98cm, day before 106cm & 100cm, day before that 102cm, 26/5 - 101cm 99cm 98cm 95cm.
