Post by volkoff »

Hey guys hopefully will be heading out to the vernons saturday night and sunday to fish some blue holes. Never been there before. What lures do you think i will need? I have been told there is big mackies out there and all sorts of big predators.

Cheers Guys.

Deep diving red and white lures are a good start for pelagics out that way. Halco Laser Pro's seem to work well, I think they come in 6 or 7 metre divers. Not too sure about inside the blue holes, they are on my "To Do" list as well, but there can be good golden snapper fishing along the edges of the drop offs near the blue holes. Also, it might pay to grab a knife jig because the channel between the mainland and the south Vernon is fairly deep, about 50-60m from memory.
