Crackdown on AFL violence

Post by ronje »

The AFL judiciary committee has flagged a crackdown on AFL violence following the $1,200 fine imposed on a player for pinching.

Chairman of the judiciary committee stated today that kind of violence must cease.

The crackdown follows recent reports of hair-pulling and face-poking in a previous round.

In addition, the AFL has called upon clubs to increase security following reports of disappearance of makeup kits, lipstick and handbags from players' dressing rooms.

Examples of that kind of violence and behaviour is unacceptable and must cease"" a spokesman said today.

"Players these days are sufficiently paid to purchase their own uniform kits and make-up companies and fashion houses have signed sponsorship deals with many AFL players" he added.

Meanwhile investigations continue into allegations of name-calling.

One month ago.......We all heard the crack as ol' mate went down. I was 30 metres away on the wing and it was pretty clear something was broken. The leg pointing the wrong direction gave it away, both bones snapped and shattered (the x rays showed a mess). The ambulance came and went and we had to shorten the game by 10 minutes to get to the pub after. Chalk up another one to country Rugby League.

At least the ground was soft
