does anyone know any tip or tricks for preserving fresh caught bait (mainly gar and queenys). i have read about salting them before freezing them but was wondering if there was any other ways of doing it that people know about.
thanks

If you salt them it really toughens them up. Layer in a bucket with salt for a week. Still great bait and doesn't come off the hook. Then pack and freeze onve tough. Do it with packet pillies too.

When I used to salt my pillies, I used to keep the fluid it created to add to my burley.
Frozen salted pllies don't freeze rock hard, and can be used straight from the freezer.
