For quite a few years now I have thought about long range charters based out of Darwin, not upmarket types like some to the Kimberley which are really just cruises with some fishing, great stuff but dear as poison. I mean bare bones fishing with a decent bed to sleep in.
I reckon 2 different scenarios, one going east departing Darwin for Evans Shoal and surrounds for billies etc then across to Lyndoch Bank down to Money shoal then on to the Wessels for awhile , returning via the inshore islands along the coast to Darwin.............. maybe 3-4 weeks duration.
Other heading West heading out to Evans etc then along the line to Sahul Banks for awsome doggies, wahoo macks and billies with every reefie yo can think of. From there down to Hibernia and Ashmore reef for more of the same and LOTS of sails there. A break on the beach and maybe target some bonefish(they are there along with Scott reef) then off to Scott reef for some Yellowfin action or nightime in the Deep drifting for broadies (now imagine that). Back to Darwin coastal via King sound etc and the inshore shoals.
Just some thoughts of mine but how good could this be, havent even thought of costing it out yet but its an idea.

Long range Charter
Fishing is not a matter of life and death, it is far more serious than that.
