FFF in Tasmania 4
Went back to 'stonker corner' and nailed a couple of better browns.
But still no stonker ...
But enough to warrant firing up the smoker
Going by the reports, it looks like I am catching more fish than you lot
Wasn't wearing Tweed or using a creel, will the Taz fishing police charge me with breaking an international convention?
Gutted one already, it had been eating tiny beetles 2mm to 3mm across, and ants - not much of a life if that is all there is to eat ... amazing contrast to northern waters and barramundi.

Smoked'em up, wasn't bad, but I've got to get more of the salty marinade flavour into the flesh to make it really good. I butterflied the fish, but might try straight fillets next time.

I get my local butcher to smoke my trout. I don't know how he does it but it always takes a few days and tastes sensational. Been getting out into the deep blue Matt? Big BFT's should be around soon.

Re: FFF in Tasmania 4
Got an opportunity to chase BFTs soon with a mate, as they come in fairly close at this time. I am keen as the trout are fun but a big-fish fix would be good.
Heard they got a couple of striped marlin this year at the southern end.
Unfortunately the bluewater weather windows are so small. It was like a Cat 1 cyclone here in Sept/Oct.
It is that windy sometimes I am amazed we don't lose roof sheets. I have spent the past two days on the roof pulling out loose roofing nails and replacing them with screws. Fortunately all screws went in solid and the timber underneath is good. But the roof sure gets a good massage.

Yeah Real good "Clear As" . Catching a lot of fish. Brought a new boat. Will be up your way soon for the run off. You didn't answer my last question on Tassi 3 so I can only assume that the answer is negative. Don't worry, it will happen. Cheers mateMud wrote:How's things JJ

Mate got this stonker around Huonsville. Renowned for fish this size Too prove it wasnt a fluke he got another one the same size and lost an even bigger fish. Australian record is something like 28pound apparently his two were around 26 pound mark.
